An integrated training program provides training in adult and child psychiatry in a five-year program. Unlike traditional training where adult psychiatry is completed before child training is begun, these programs allow for training in child psychiatry beginning in the first or second year of residency. For medical students who know that they want to become child psychiatrist, this is a good alternative path. Below is a list of programs that offer integrated training. More programs are adding integrated training, so if the program you are interested in is not listed, check with the training director of that school to see if this option is available.
