Communication and Language Disorders in Children and Adolescents<A comprehensive, succinct review of higher order language’s (HOLs) role in clinical care allows the clinical practitioner, administrator, and policy maker to integrate what they have learned into their thinking and work. Participants develop an improved awareness of language and communication disorders, their prevalence in pediatric clinic populations, and their role in developing emotional and behavioral problems. Presentations enhance competence and comfort in identifying receptive, expressive, and pragmatic (HOL) language deficits; and explain the neurobiological basis of language and associated learning disorders. Participants improve their ability to formulate related cases to assure improved outcomes for youth with the range of language deficits.
